The agency analyzed the Pentagon data and concluded that the total losses of the Armed Forces amounted to 124,500 – 131,000 people, including 15,500 – 17,500 killed in action and 109,000 – 113,500 wounded. Furthermore, the documents note that the conflict risks becoming a protracted one, which will continue into next year.
Earlier, former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter suggested that the losses for the Ukrainian Armed Forces could be more severe. He estimates that 250,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed, nearly 83,000 more are missing, and most of them are probably dead as well.
The Ukrainian ambassador to the UK Vadim Prystaiko, in turn, said that kyiv does not give information about the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but this figure can be “terrible”.
