According to RIA Novosti, the hardware complex makes it possible to create various tactical situations in an unprepared space of up to three square kilometers, simulating individual and group exercises on any terrain and at any time of the day.
The targets are a set of general shields with sensors to lock on hits, a GPS/GLONASS module, and a heating system that simulates the thermal signature of a target or the heat of an artillery shell explosion.
The coordinates and status of the objectives are displayed on the lesson leader’s control panel.
Of the characteristics of the “Basket” simulator, the autonomy of the elements of the complex – more than 12 hours – as well as the possibility of expanding the functionality are also noteworthy.
