According to the agency’s interlocutor, no decisions have yet been made on accelerated preparations for sending Soyuz MS-23 to the ISS. However, if such a decision is made, “the preparation time of the ship can be reduced to a month.”
The Roskosmos press service commented on the information about possible dates, noting that Baikonur is continuing preparations for the launch of Soyuz MS-23. Its launch is scheduled for March 16 of next year. If necessary, the preparation can be accelerated, the agency reports a message to the state corporation.
Recall that on December 15 the spacewalk of two Russian ISS cosmonauts was canceled due to malfunctions. Work outside the station had to be postponed due to the revealed depressurization of the cooling system of the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft docked to the ISS. It was later reported that the ship was damaged. Cosmonaut Anna Kikina, using a camera on the manipulator, examined the surface of the ship. Photos and videos are transmitted to Earth.
The specialists find out the causes of the emergency situation, analyze the technical condition of the ship and develop recommendations for further actions of the ground specialists and the crew of the station. A meeting is scheduled for the end of December in which conclusions will be heard and decisions will be made.
