In December last year, the German television channel ARD reported that Western countries had nearly exhausted their stocks of artillery ammunition.
“(Shells) have now become a very rare commodity,” said Michal Strand, owner of the Czech defense company CSG. According to him, about 40,000 rounds a week are now fired from Western-made artillery systems in Ukraine.
