Rivera remains with the Simões team in the management leadership of Santander Spain

Date: March 29, 2024 Time: 02:07:58

After being appointed CEO of Santander Spain, Ángel Rivera has carried out a reorganization in the entity’s management committee, although the changes have been very few. The leadership will be made up of 13 members, of which a large part will already form part of the management team.

Among the main organizational changes, Raquel Graciano has been appointed as the new Human Resources Director, reporting to Cristina Ruiz, in Spain, and Amaya Casero, in Europe. As deputy director of Human Resources, Raquel already had an important role in the group’s cultural and people management change.

One of the most notable additions is that of Francisco Moza to the management team, occupying the position of Director of Corporate Development and Sustainability and reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for Strategy and Sustainability, Costs and Profitability, and Marketing.

For his part, Pablo del Campo continues as Finance Director with responsibility for Management Control, Finance and Real Estate, and maintains his European role as Finance and Strategy Director. To converge with the global model, Adela Martín incorporates the Insurance business into her Private Banking and Asset Management responsibilities and the area is renamed Wealth Management & Insurance.

The Business Directorate is created

In line with the reorganization, the Business Department is created, led by Antonio Román, which adds to his current responsibility for the business of Companies, Institutions and Universities, the specialized business of SMEs, Distribution (with responsibility for the Commercial Network, the territorial departments and Santander Personal) and Internal Control.

In addition, he will also oversee the new Customer Growth function, to ensure consistency in all interactions with the bank’s customers and drive our strategic growth and customer loyalty priorities, working closely with Francisco Moza and Cristina Ruiz.

First week in office

The reorganization of the committee occurs five days after the effective appointment of Ángel Rivera as CEO of the entity in Spain, which came into force on February 1. In this way, the Spanish manager went on to occupy the seat of António Simões, who continues his stage at the bank leading Europe as a member of the group’s management committee.
