Robert Downey Jr. to Star in Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo Remake

Date: June 3, 2023 Time: 10:52:16

Paramount Pictures began production on Vertigo, a 1958 psychological thriller directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Deadline reports.

Robert Downey Jr. could play the lead role of James Stewart, a former police detective who is forced into retirement after an injury on duty leaves him afraid of heights and suffering from anxiety attacks and dizziness.

The script will be written by Steven Knight, the writer of Spencer and Peaky Blinders, who recently signed on to do a Star Wars movie. Downey Jr. will produce with John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment and Susan Downey of Team Downey.

Remember that Paramount released the original movie, which was written by Alec Koppel and Samuel A. Taylor. The picture is based on the novel by Boileau-Narcejac “Among the dead” (in the original – “D’entre les morts”). In the story, the protagonist is hired as a private detective to spy on a woman who, according to her husband, is behaving strangely.

Earlier it became known that work on the creation of a full-length film about the Kiss group will soon begin. It will be released in 2024 on Netflix, the band’s manager, Doc McGee, told The Rock Experience with Mike Brunn.
