“Dmitry Olegovich underwent a complex operation to extract a fragment of Ukrainian ammunition from the region of the cervical vertebra. The operation was successful, he is recovering,” the agency interlocutor said.
Rogozin was injured on the night of December 22 on the outskirts of Donetsk in a hotel during shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The fragment hit him above the shoulder blade in the cervical spine region, there was no danger to his life, however, the doctors indicated that it was not safe to leave the fragment in the body due to the probability of paralysis.
He was transported from the DPR to the Moscow region, where the operation was scheduled to take place on December 26.
