– Now we have reached an agreement with the accreditation body of the Persian Gulf countries, at the end of May we must sign an agreement with Malaysia, we have agreements with Indonesia and Iran in process. That is, we are going step by step, we are getting closer to these results, ”he said.
On the sidelines of the forum, Rosaccreditation, together with the Gulf Accreditation Center (GAC), completed the procedure for signing an agreement on the joint accreditation of Halal certification bodies.
The documents were signed by Nazariy Skrypnik and the Director General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Accreditation Center, Moteb Al Mezani.
The head of Rosakkreditatsiya explained that the signed documents refer to six countries of the Persian Gulf. Among them are Oman, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait. Joint evaluation agreement reached.
– Rosakkreditatsiya will analyze whether the authority can assess the production, whether it has all the necessary documents, whether the staff is trained. And the representatives of the accreditation body in the countries of the Persian Gulf are specialists in the norms of Islam. They are doing the second part of the evaluation together with us. Thus, the certifying body receives two advantages and can be considered the body that will issue certificates that will be recognized, – said the head Nazariy Skrypnik.
He added that not a single product from Russia can enter an Islamic country without a Halal certificate. In most cases, such certificates are issued by accredited bodies in Arab countries.
“We have chosen a path that will help lower the barrier and accredit a body that can issue Halal certificates,” Skrypnik emphasized.
For example, chicken meat will be supplied to Saudi Arabia under the auspices of the Federal Accreditation Service.
“Now we are recruiting country after country to do the same negotiations and reach agreements,” said the head of the Federal Accreditation Service.
So far, Russia has accredited a body that will carry out Halal certification. As new applications come in and the eligibility of these bodies is reviewed, the list of accredited bodies will expand.
