New details have emerged regarding the merger of Rosbank and T-Bank. The management of the companies proposed to merge Rosbank into a branch of T-Bank. On September 13, the boards of directors of both banks will consider this issue.
“By partnering, we provide clients with the smoothest transition from one platform to another. It is important for us that the client does not suffer. And it is easier to do this by integrating Rosbank as a branch of T-Bank,” said T-Bank head Stanislav Bliznyuk in a special interview with “Money Never Sleeps” host Irina Akhmadullina.
“As a result of the merger of two leading banks of systemic importance in their segments, a large and reliable player in the Russian financial market will be formed, which, thanks to synergy and economies of scale, will enter the top 5 market participants in terms of key indicators. I am convinced that the synergy of knowledge and experience of both banks will provide our clients with new opportunities, including through combined product and service offerings and the use of T-Bank’s advanced technological platform solutions,” said Nikolai Sidorov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rosbank.
T-Bank’s capital after the integration of Rosbank will amount to over 500 billion rubles and will contribute to further business growth, while T-Bank will remain committed to the online service model. Only points of presence will remain offline for VIP segment clients and Rosbank corporate clients with salary projects.
“Instead of physical branches, we will further expand the network of T-Bank ATMs – up to 10,000 by the end of 2024,” Stanislav Bliznyuk explained.
Rosbank customers will have access to all T-Bank platforms, which are already capable of serving 100 million customers. In addition, Rosbank will have access to all T-Bank developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). “When we talk about 40-60 million customers, we need to make decisions quickly and cheaply. AI-based solutions help us with this. Currently, about 45% of all customer requests are processed via chatbots or voice assistants. With the help of the latest developments in the field of AI, we protect individual customers from fraud,” comments the head of T-Bank.
The merger will increase the efficiency of using unified platform IT solutions and eliminate duplicate functions within the unified structure of T-Bank. Stanislav Blizniuk also stressed that a strong team has been assigned to complete the integration process. “Everyone understands the purpose of the merger, so all risks are minimized. We have drawn up an integration proposal, after thinking everything through in advance and communicating with the regulator and other market players. The process is complex, but we are confident that everything will work out,” he concludes.
