The solemn event was timed to coincide with the Day of the State Flag of Russia.
In the urban-type settlement of Askania-Nova, Kherson region, Russian Guard servicemen became guests of honor at the opening ceremony of a new kindergarten.
“The soldiers told the students of the institution about the state symbols of the Russian Federation, the heroic past and the present of the country. As part of the event, the servicemen got acquainted with the conditions in which children will prepare for school, held a contest for the best image of the State Flag of the Russian Federation. Competition winners and participants were presented with sweet treats,” the National Guard said in a statement.
Students from social rehabilitation centers of the Lugansk People’s Republic also received assistance. As part of the “Rosgvardia with the Luhansk region” campaign, our soldiers presented more than 70 children with new clothes, shoes, toys, medicines and sweets.
– Every child here has his own destiny, sometimes very tragic. Someone lost their parents to the shelling of Ukrainian nationalists, there are also those who lived in dysfunctional families, – said the participant in the action, Lieutenant Colonel Roman O. – We will try to visit them as often as possible, because children are the future of our country and it is very important to help them.
The Rosgvardeytsy held informative history talks with the children and, together with the pupils, unfurled the 10-meter state flag of Russia.
