The “tick” season begins immediately after the snow melts, and therefore in the south of the country precautions should be taken during walks.
The list of dangerous areas is based on data on the incidence of tick-borne encephalitis in 2022.
So, in the Moscow region, two districts are called endemic – Dmitrovsky and Taldomsky.
There are already 12 such districts in the neighboring Tver region: Vyshnevolotsky, Zapadno-Dvinsky, Kalininsky, Kashinsky, Konakovsky, Krasnokholmsky, Likhoslavl, Maksatikhinsky, Nelidovsky, Oleninsky, Rameshkovsky, Torzhoksky.
In the Novgorod, Leningrad, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Pskov regions, ticks infected with the encephalitis virus are found in all regions without exception.
Several administrative territories in St. Petersburg were named endemic: Kolpinsky, Krasnoselsky, Kurortny, Primorsky, Petrodvortsovy, Pushkinsky districts.
There are no endemic areas for the tick in Moscow.
In the Urals and Siberia, all territories of the Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, Kemerovo, Chelyabinsk, Tomsk regions, the Altai Republic and the Altai Territory are called endemic for the encephalitic tick.
In the Far East: Buryatia, Jewish Autonomous Region, Primorsky Territory.
