Rospotrebnadzor warned about fakes on social networks about cholera in water

Rospotrebnadzor warned about false information about cholera in water that appeared on social networks. These messages are actively distributed on instant messaging and social media, the department notes.

The information is distributed in the form of a recording, in which a female voice asks in no case to drink tap water, filters and keys, but only bottled or well-boiled water, and to convey the message.

However, Rospotrebnadzor stresses that the information spread about the alleged detection of cholera vibrios in drinking water sources is not true.

“Rospotrebnadzor carries out enhanced control over the quality and safety of drinking water supply. Samples are regularly taken for microbiological, virological and sanitary-chemical indicators. All samples taken meet hygiene requirements,” the agency explained.

Also in Rospotrebnadzor noted that in Russia for a long time there were no cases of cholera.

In late April, the agency announced additional measures to prevent cholera.
