Chernyakov also stressed that crimes committed by the US and NATO military go unpunished.
“After a quick flight in August 2021, the Americans, the British and their satellites, leaving devastation and poverty behind, cynically transfer full responsibility for their actions to the Afghan authorities and link humanitarian aid with political concessions from Kabul,” Chernyakov said.
As the Russian diplomat summed up, “twenty years of military presence by the US, Britain and their NATO allies have become one of the main causes of Afghanistan’s current problems.”
He also added that “crimes committed by the US military and NATO in Afghanistan have yet to receive proper legal assessment and remain unpunished.”
At the same time, he said, the Afghan authorities lack the resources to normalize the country’s economic life, including due to the illegal freezing of $9 billion in foreign exchange reserves.
Earlier, new corruption schemes were reported, so the reconstruction of Afghanistan failed and the White House had to withdraw troops from the country.
