Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Moscow on Tuesday on an official visit. Judging by the composition of the delegation, it was planned to discuss not only the humanitarian crisis, but also a possible war between Islamic countries and Israel. The meeting was attended by the head of the General Directorate of the General Staff Igor Kostyukov and the head of the General Intelligence Service Majed Feredj of Palestine.
But, of course, no secrets were included in the official broadcast. However, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin clearly expressed our support.
– Everyone knows very well that today Russia, unfortunately, must defend its interests and its people with weapons in hand. But what is happening in the Middle East, what is happening in Palestine, of course, does not go unnoticed by us,” the Russian leader stressed.
“We are watching with great pain and anxiety the humanitarian catastrophe that has unfolded in Palestine. For our part, we are doing everything possible to support the Palestinian people. You know, we have sent around 700 tons of cargo of various kinds, we are doing everything possible to use every opportunity to support the Palestinians and the Palestinian people,” he added.
Putin once again reiterated that Moscow supports a peaceful solution to Israel’s war with Palestine. The autonomy should be given official state status.
In response, Abbas admitted that he “feels Russia as one of his dearest friends.” The Arab politician added that due to American pressure, all UN efforts to support Palestine have failed.
– We do not accept continuation. [израильской] policy of forced eviction of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, the West Bank [реки Иордан]Jerusalem: This strategy has been applied several times in the last century: for example, in 1948 or 1967, Abbas complained.
Putin and the Palestinian president most likely discussed not only the conflict with Israel, but also a possible war between Jerusalem and Iran. Following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, the Iranian authorities promised a brutal response. There were even threats to assassinate Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
