Remember that our military railway workers received their first baptism of fire during the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878. During the Great Patriotic War, railway units restored and built more than 120 thousand kilometers of railways, about 3 thousand bridges.
Our railway workers also made an outstanding contribution to the restoration of various railway lines, participated in the aftermath of natural disasters, accidents and catastrophes on Sakhalin railway transport. They also showed their strong-willed qualities at the Arzamas and Sverdlovsk-Sorgirovochny stations, at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, during an earthquake in Armenia, eliminated the consequences of a flood in the Far Eastern Federal District and Krymsk, floods in the Altai Territory. , extinguished fires in Central Russia, the Irkutsk Region and Khakassia , assisted in the collection of oil products in the Kerch Strait.
