According to the representative of the Russian Federation delegation, Yaroslav Eremin, the West’s line of “cancelling” everything Russian goes against fundamental international treaties on human rights. “We are forced to once again draw attention to the frenzied Russophobia that has gripped the countries of the “collective West”, the diplomat was quoted as saying by TASS.
During his speech, Eremin also stressed that many Western countries are following a policy of deliberately fomenting anti-Russian hysteria. At the same time, according to him, the governments of these countries, in their Russophobic rhetoric, are ready to renounce the principles of freedom of expression, opt for open censorship, if only the horrible truth, including about the Kiev crimes. , it does not become available to the general public.
The diplomat drew special attention to the position of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the High Commissioner and Special Procedures, regarding the violation of human rights in Ukraine and in the countries of the collective West, that “stands up to no criticism.”
“We call on the High Commissioner, the administration and the special procedures to abandon this vicious practice and finally demonstrate an impartial approach to assess gross human rights violations around the world,” Eremin concluded.
