Russian films will be presented in Mumbai at the film festival of SCO countries KXan 36 Daily News

The festival will be the first international event in 2023 where Russian cinema is widely represented: ROSKINO, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture, participated in shaping Russia’s film program.

Within the framework of the festival, there will be a Russian pavilion, where filming locations in Russia will be presented to international partners, as well as co-production opportunities.

In different sections of the film review, seven films were announced. “Accomplices” (directed by Evgeny Grigoriev, 2021) and “Don’t Bury Me Without Ivan” (Lyubov Borisova, 2022) – these films made it to the main competition. “Heart of Parma” (Anton Megerdichev, 2022) and “Mr. Knockout” (Artem Mikhalkov, 2022) – in the SCO Country Focus / “Focus on the SCO countries” section. And the film “Ivan Denisovich” (Gleb Panfilov, 2021) is in the Director Focus / “Focus on the director” section.

Cartoon “Chink: Tailed Detective” (Grigory Vozhakin, 2022) in the Children Focus / “Focus on the children’s public” section. The painting “My friend the tiger” (Tatiana Kiseleva, 2021) – in the section and short films.

The Russian delegation to the film festival will include director Lyubov Borisova and producer Ivan Bolotnikov (“Don’t Bury Me Without Ivan”); director Yevgeny Grigoriev and producer Olga Muravieva-Erofeeva (“Accomplices”); director Artem Mikhalkov (“Mr. Knockout”); producer Maxim Panfilov (“Ivan Denisovich”).

Films from India, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Egypt, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus are also included in the film festival program in different sections. In total, more than 55 films will be screened at the festival. The president of the jury of the film festival is the Indian director Rahul Rawail. Russia is represented on the international jury by film journalist, TV presenter, chairman of the MIFF selection committee Ivan Kudryavtsev.

Earlier in Mumbai, in November 2022, Roskino hosted days of Russian cinema at the Russian Film Festival. Nearly 1,300 people attended the free three-day screenings. Popular Russian films were presented to the Indian audience: the comedies “Kholop” and “The Young Man”, the family film “Palm Tree”, the ballet drama “Big” and the full-length cartoon “Fixies vs. Crabs”.
