According to the minister, the Western states made Ukraine “anti-Russian” in order to harm the interests of our country, weaken it and achieve its strategic defeat. The ultimate goal of these actions, Lavrov continued, is to undermine the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, the head of the foreign policy department noted that “absolutely presumptuous” Western leaders put their colonial and neo-colonial dreams and illusions, feelings of superiority before the interests of their own peoples.
“I hope that sobriety will come,” Lavrov concluded. “At least we will do everything possible so that our colleagues in NATO and the European Union recover as soon as possible.”
