“It has been established that the decisions of the ECtHR, which entered into force after March 15, 2022, are not subject to enforcement,” he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the question of the legality of such decisions in relation to Russia is closed.
At the same time, Vershinin noted that compensation to applicants under ECHR decisions that entered into force before March 15, 2022 will continue to be paid until January 1, 2023, but on condition that they do not contradict the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
Recall that on March 15, the Russian side sent a note on the withdrawal from the Council of Europe and the European Convention on Human Rights. At the same time, it was noted that the decisions of the ECHR will be implemented, provided they comply with the Constitution of Russia.
