The official pointed out that, according to Unesco, the demolished monuments are not under the international protection regime. In this sense, demolition is an internal matter of Ukraine. He added that Kyiv contradicts itself when it destroys its cultural heritage and calls for an international organization to protect this heritage.
Earlier, in Ukraine, several monuments to Russian poets, writers and statesmen were demolished.
