Stores of the French brand L’Occitane in Russia, which, after the start of a special operation in Ukraine, suspended their activities and later opened under the L’Occitane banners, will be able to change their names again. It is reported by “Kommersant” with reference to Rospatent data.
The source of the publication in the retail market said that the reason is the requirement of the parent company, which is not satisfied with the Cyrillic brand. So, she says, the decision was made to look for another name that wasn’t directly associated with L’Occitane.
As follows from the Rospatent database, in December the Russian legal entity filed applications for the registration of the SoBeautiful and SouBeautyful trademarks. This name is found in some sections of the website of the Russian online store and in the domains of the email addresses of the company’s employees.
Earlier, L’Oreal announced that it would close stores in Russia. It also temporarily halted all industrial and advertising investments.
