“We need a victory”, “Blue handkerchief”, “Moments”, “Last battle”, “Dark night”… People recognize these and many other military songs by the first verses and the first chords. Especially often they sound on the May holidays: from TV screens, on the radio, on the central streets of cities, in parks, in courtyards, at the table. After all, every year after the end of the Great Patriotic War, we are faithful to tradition, not forgetting about this tragedy, which claimed the lives of millions of our compatriots, among whom were our loved ones.

In the program “About the heroes of bygone times…” hosts Oksana Galkevich and Maxim Merkulov will tell you how the most famous military songs were written.

“We chose songs that different generations know and love – both front-line soldiers and young people. Not only Russians, but also residents of the republics of the former Soviet Union. These are songs that unite us, that people sing in families, getting together and remembering their loved ones, who participated in the Great Patriotic War, “says Oksana Galkevich. – The choice was not easy, because actually there are more good songs that entered our program. We talk about the authors, the first performers. , about where the song was first performed. I managed to find a lot of interesting things about each song…”

“I really liked the words of the director Tatyana Lioznova, who in her films about the war did not show military operations, battles. She believed that her fellow front-line soldiers would do better. Lioznova made films about the beauty of those people who won this battle, about the strength of his spirit. This has become less in the cinema recently, so I consider our project very important. After all, we are not talking about horrors and nightmares, but about something good, kind, eternal. The project was interesting. for me and my colleagues also because it combined a small theatrical production with an informative television genre. It was an unusual task,” recalls presenter Maxim Merkulov.

Each of the military songs has its own story, its own path, its own destiny. For what reason did you have to shoot many duplicates of the scene from the film “Belarusian Station”, in which Nina Urgant sings the song “We need a victory”? How did Mikhail Nozhkin, who did not fight, manage to write one of the most emotionally accurate songs about the war “The Last Battle” from the epic film “Liberation”? Why did Claudia Shulzhenko at first not like to sing the song “Blue Handkerchief”?

You will learn about this and many other things in the program “On the heroes of bygone times …” on June 24 at 16:25 on OTR!
