Rwanda withdrew its signature from the communiqué of the Ukraine conference in Switzerland – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: July 18, 2024 Time: 12:51:09

Rwanda was on the list on June 16, the day the conference ended. However, he is no longer on the list updated by the Swiss Foreign Ministry on June 17, TASS reports.

Previously, the official representative of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Valentin Kliva, said that the process of adjusting the list is still ongoing. According to him, if before June 18 one country or another informs of its desire to withdraw its signature or, on the contrary, to join the group of States that supported the statement, this will be done.

Recall that the two-day summit on Ukraine was held in the resort town of Bürgenstock, near the city of Lucerne. In total, representatives of 91 countries participated in the conference, although initially 160 states were invited (Russia was not among them).

The final document of the summit did not have the support of 11 countries: Brazil, India, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Bahrain, Indonesia, Libya, Mexico and Thailand.

Iraq and Jordan subsequently left the list. According to the Swiss Foreign Ministry, both countries did not initially sign the final declaration. They were added to the list due to a “coordination issue.”
