The award ceremony was opened by Alexei Veselov, Minister of Forestry, Environmental Protection and Nature Management of the Samara Region. He congratulated the attendees for the upcoming Ecologist Day.
– In modern conditions, ecology is a priority direction of human activity. Protecting and preserving nature is one of the main tasks of the authorities and the public. Ecology is everyone’s business. Many thanks to the volunteers, the scientific community, professional ecologists and all those who are not indifferent to the problems of environmental protection. Thank you for your noble, important and necessary work, – said Alexey Veselov.
As a result of the contest, Gazprom Transgaz Samara won three prizes. The first degree diploma was awarded in the nomination “Industrial Giant”. The company’s press service took first place among regional media. The title of eco-leader was awarded to the branch of the company – Sergievsky LPU in the nomination “Company”.
– This is a merit of our entire team, – said Konstantin Shabanov, Chief Engineer – First Deputy General Director of Gazprom Transgaz Samara. – It is possible to win the EcoLeader competition every year due to the fact that employees do not formally carry out their work, but put all their efforts into the common cause, actively participate in volunteer and environmental events. We must leave our wonderful land intact to our descendants, making its nature cleaner and more beautiful. This is our strategy, our life principle.
Gazprom transgaz Samara annually holds a large number of production and social events aimed at protecting the environment. He is the organizer of campaigns to plant seedlings, clear territories and reproduce fish stocks in the Volga River. Employees take part in the all-Russian campaigns “Garden of Memory”, “Save the Forest”, in environmental cleanup “Green Spring”. Every year new plans and projects are added to the traditional events.
In 2022, a mobile compressor station was used for the first time to repair gas pipelines. The complex of technological equipment allows to save gas and reduce emissions into the atmosphere to a minimum.
As part of the new charitable project “Keepers of the Volga Lands”, the company sponsored five specially protected natural areas of regional importance: the “Kamyshlinsky Matsesta” source of hydrogen sulfide, Blue Lake, Mount Kopeyka, Racheysky Rocks and Yagodinsky Forest. This year, the list of sponsored natural monuments has been replenished with new territories.
