The PSOE candidate and Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, and the second vice president and Sumar candidate, Yolanda Díaz, have given two separate interviews to Cadena Ser and Antena 3 in which they have agreed to criticize the statements altered by the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, on voting by mail, in which he encouraged Post Office employees to work overtime to distribute the entire vote, even if it was against the direction of their superiors.
Sánchez has guaranteed this Thursday that the process of the general elections on July 23 will be “clean, as always” and has accused Feijóo of questioning the vote by mail to “muddy the political debate” and create “disaffection” so that citizens do not vote. In his opinion, it is a smoke screen to divert attention from what interests the citizens, in his opinion the proposals of each party and that seeks to create “disaffection so that people do not go to vote and mistrust the electoral process”. In addition, he has denied giving orders to make voting by mail more difficult.
“As president, I guarantee that Spain is going to have a clean democratic process, as we have always had. Spain is a full, robust democracy, which is in the best rankings for democratic quality”, stressed the head of the Executive.
