The news about the closure of the mobile application SberBank Online excited many Russians today, as more than 50 million people use it every month. Today, some Sberbank clients began to receive SMS notifications that the application on their smartphones will stop working on January 16, 2023. The messages remind them to update the application in the bank office or use the web version of the application.
However, at the bank itself, Komsomolskaya Pravda explained that not everyone will be affected by the closure of the application.
“This information concerns a small number of clients: SMS messages about the need to update the application are sent only to clients with the most outdated versions,” Sberbank’s press service commented. – We have repeatedly warned these customers about this in the past. Owners of Android devices can update the application on the bank’s website or in RuStore, owners of iOS devices can contact the bank’s office. The web version of SberBank Online is also available to all clients.
