According to him, the most current schemes used by fraudsters are still calls from law enforcement officers and the Central Bank with requests to transfer money supposedly to a safe account.
“I will give you five key words and phrases… These are the words: “FSB”, “Ministry of Internal Affairs”, “Central Bank”, “safe account”, “provide SMS code/card details/passport/SNILS,” TASS quotes Kuznetsov as saying.
The top manager urged people to hang up immediately if they heard even one of these words in a conversation with a stranger.
In addition, Kuznetsov added, schemes for accessing personal accounts in State Security, allegedly called by mobile operators “to renew a contract” or allegedly by the Social Fund of Russia under the pretext of “recalculating pensions”, are popular among criminals.
It was previously reported that before September 1, scammers began using stories about sales and contests in fake online stores selling school clothes, textbooks, stationery and other school supplies.
