Showman Otar Kushanashvili is still in hospital. On his blog, Otar talks about how he is fighting the cancer that doctors diagnosed him with every day.
The showman is supported by friends and colleagues. One of the first to provide financial assistance to Kushanashvili was the “golden voice” Nikolai Baskov.
Otaru and his other friends helped out. However, phone scammers managed to exploit this story.
“A woman called me and introduced herself as Otar’s wife. I know Otar well, but I didn’t know his wife. This woman told me that Otaru needed money for treatment and asked me to transfer 200 thousand rubles to his card. She added that Valery Meladze had already sent her 2 million rubles,” producer Sergei Dvortsov told KP.RU. “Then journalists called me, to whom I briefly told about this call. And then another call rang. Olga Kushanashvili called me, this time the real one. She was indignant and said: Why are you reporting false information to the media? That’s how Olga and I found out that on behalf of her and Otar’s sister, scammers called their friends and asked them to transfer money to them.
– Guys (mostly PR people, artists), I want to warn everyone, Otar Kushanashvili and his family did not ask for money from anyone, they did not call anyone. These are scammers who call. In fact, Otar is currently undergoing treatment at the Blokhin Cancer Center and is recovering. Now he has everything he needs (mostly good doctors and medicines). Do not fall for scammers and do not transfer money to anyone. If Otaru needs help, he will report it himself on his blog,” producer Sergei Dvortsov addressed his colleagues via KP.RU.
