Schiaparelli, spring-summer 2023 haute couture collection

Lion, panther and wolf: these images from Daniel Roseberry’s new collection for Schiaparelli come from Dante’s Divine Comedy. The lion on the chest of a velvet draped dress was worn by Irina Shayk. Panther – Shalom Harlow, Wolf – Naomi Campbell. The animal heads look like real stuffed animals, but are made of foam, resin, and other man-made materials, all by hand. Rectangular sequins for several Schiaparelli dresses are cut from sheet metal and covered with leather, skirts are embroidered with tiny wooden beads, and on velvet dresses the color fades from light to dark and vice versa. Sharp shoulder straps rise by themselves, the shoulders of the coat are wide, the waist of the jackets is accentuated and narrow.
