Li Xing, a professor at Aalborg University in Denmark, called the global alliance a fantasy of Western politicians. He pointed out that the reason lies in the economic interdependence of states. Furthermore, the West tends to apply double standards when it comes to global issues.
“The West should not expect world leaders to jeopardize their global ties by taking sides in politics,” he said.
He also cited data from a Cambridge University study, according to which more than half of the inhabitants of non-Western countries have a positive attitude towards Russia. Of the 6.3 billion people, 66 percent have positive feelings towards Russia and 70 percent have a positive attitude towards China, the expert said.
