The national teams of Serbia and Germany met in the bronze medal match of the men’s basketball tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games. The Germans are the reigning world champions and the Serbians nearly pulled off a miracle in the semi-finals against the star-studded US team, but still lost at the end of the match.
The Serbian team confidently won the first quarter with a score of 30:21. After that, they confidently held on to the lead, not allowing it to change the course of the match. The Serbians went into the break with an eight-point lead, but in the second half they managed to increase the lead to ten, winning with a score of 93:83.
The hero of the match was center Nikola Jokic. One of the best players in the National Basketball Association, he had a triple-double: 19 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.
The French and United States teams will play the final of the tournament later.
