“Since the beginning of the school year in the Belgorod region, 550 schools have opened their doors to more than 160 thousand children. Undoubtedly, in such a situation, the main task remains to ensure the safety of students and teachers. In schools, shelters and safety islands have been equipped, shelters have been installed, windows have been covered with armored sheets and safety classes are taught every day to children and all teachers have taken emergency preparedness courses,” the Minister pointed out.
Sergei Kravtsov stressed that the Belgorod region, despite the difficult operational situation, remains a region with a high level of education. If in 2022 43 graduates obtained the highest score in the exam, in 2023 – 52, this year the number of students with 100 points reached 75.
“In such difficult times, these are excellent results,” noted the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation. “Of course, various regional and municipal measures to support gifted children help to achieve such successes. The authorities of the Belgorod region pay close attention to this area. Over the past three years, 115 million rubles have been allocated in the region to support and stimulate talented schoolchildren and students. This is paying off, because more than 3,000 Olympiad winners, 100 high-scoring graduates, young scientists, athletes and activists received payments, scholarships and prizes for success in their educational activities.”
