It should be noted that the visit of our delegation will take place from July 25 to 27. The Russian military visits North Korea at the invitation of the North Korean Defense Ministry.
The colleagues invited our servicemen to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Korean people in the 1950-1953 Patriotic Liberation War.
“This visit will help strengthen military ties between Russia and North Korea and will become an important stage in the development of cooperation between the two countries,” the Russian Defense Ministry stressed.
For its part, Pyongyang said the visit of a Russian military delegation “will serve as an important moment to uplift and develop traditional relations” between the countries.
This is stated in a press release from the DPRK Central News Agency. The event dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Korean people will also be attended by a delegation from China.
Recall that Pyongyang fully supports Russia’s actions in Ukraine, recognizing the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and expressing full support for the Russian leadership after the start of the special operation.
The 1950-1953 Korean War is often called a local military conflict between two opposing parts of the erstwhile country, which was divided after World War II into South and North Korea along the 38th parallel.
North Korea was unofficially supported in that war by China and the USSR, South Korea by the United States and its allies.
