The Odeon Theatre was opened on the site of the former Golden Palace casino, where the Russian showbiz world enjoyed itself in every possible way in the 2000s.
The opening took place with great fanfare: the premiere of the gastro-musical “Moscow Doesn’t Believe in Tears” was accompanied by a dinner hosted by the famous restaurant guru Anton Pinsky. The helmsman of this event is Eduard Ratnikov, a cult music distributor, well known in the rock community.
Ratnikov began his career in the late 80s in the Black Obelisk group. From a simple stage worker, Eduard grew into a venerable producer and later became the first Russian distributor who brought us world stars.
According to Eduard, the main task he set for the Odeon company was to create a musical that is close to the Russian public, since, according to Ratnikov, our audiences have their own vision of beauty.
The musical is centered on a love story and, of course, the conquest, one might even say the taming of the capital. At the same time, the characters sing the main hits of the 90s and 2000s, to the point that at the end of the performance none of the audience can sit down at the table, even the prim employees tear off their ties and start dancing.
One of the main characters in “Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears” is the stage prima donna Isolde.
By the way, his repertoire includes the famous “Iceberg” by Igor Nikolaev.
Despite the name change, associations with AB are in bold.
One of the guests at the premiere show, Sergei Zverev, also sees them, shining in purple sequins.
– Do you think Alla Pugacheva will return to Russia soon? – we asked Zverev.
– Where will she go? I think Alla is very bored… – the artist said philosophically.
