Shoigu is scheduled to hold talks with Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Akhmadian and Chief of the General Staff Mohammad Bagheri. As part of the visit, the Security Council Secretary will also meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
It is expected that the talks will address issues of strengthening and expanding cooperation between the Russian Federation and Iran in all areas, especially in the field of security.
Shoigu received an invitation to visit Iran in May from Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Ahmadian.
