Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu checked the implementation of the state defense order at an enterprise of the military-industrial complex in the Omsk region, which produces tanks and heavy flamethrower systems.

“The head of the company informed General of the Army Sergei Shoigu that, in accordance with his instructions, the security of the armored vehicles had been increased in preparation for their shipment to the special operations zone. Thus, the tanks of the new T-80BVM model are already equipped on the production line with the “Cape” camouflage system and a protective visor. All armored vehicles are immediately sent by the company with an additional turret protection module,” comments on the images of Sergei Shoigu’s work trip to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The department noted that the next batch of armored vehicles produced will reach the troops in May.

The head of the Russian military department was also informed that over the past year the company increased production of TOS-1A Solntsepek heavy flamethrower systems by 2.5 times.

“When we started a large program to create additional protection for tanks, we were looking at alloys and technical solutions. They all did it. Now it is necessary to increase the pace of production,” the head of the military department set the task for the company’s management.

Shoigu once again reminded that it is necessary to increase the production of additional protection kits for installation on vehicles that are already in combat operations and send them to the repair brigades that we have on the battlefield.

The Minister also visited the repair training and production complex of the Omsk Automotive and Armor Engineering Institute, where cadets, within the framework of their practical training, are involved in the repair and maintenance of armored vehicles of the participating small units in the SVO.
