Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu
In a thematic conference call, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu spoke about the situation in the area of the special military operation, which is largely determined by our Joint Group of Forces on the contact line.
– The grouping continues to conduct active combat operations in all directions, concentrating its main efforts on weakening the enemy’s combat capabilities. The command of the armed forces of Ukraine is desperately launching new forces to storm our positions. Thanks to a well-built defense, skillful organization of the fire system, professional actions, endurance and perseverance of Russian military personnel, the enemy could not break through, – said Sergei Shoigu.
The minister stressed that the resilience and dedication of the fighters of the 810th Marine Brigade and the 71st Motorized Rifle Regiment in the Orekhovsky direction thwarted a large-scale attempt by Ukrainian troops to break through our defenses.
“I would like to once again thank all our guys. Not only from these brigades, but also from these, first of all, because we have not seen such an onslaught in all this time yet, but in this case they all worked. In just two days, on July 26 and 27, more than 400 Ukrainian servicemen, 31 tanks, including three German Leopards, two French and 32 armored fighting vehicles, were destroyed in the area of the village of Rabotino. A total of 63 armored vehicles”, listed the minister.
Shoigu noted that by maneuvers, counterattacks and counterattacks, Russian formations and military units liberated from the Nazis the settlements of Kovalevka and Sergeevka in the Krasno-Limansky direction, as well as the Molchanovka railway station in the Kupyansky direction.
At the same time, the 15th Motor Rifle Brigade, the 234th Air Assault Regiment, the 238th Artillery Brigade, the 31st Engineer Regiment and the 23rd Combat Aviation Regiment distinguished themselves.
“Over the past month, as a result of the successful actions of our troops, enemy losses amounted to more than 20,824 people and 2,227 units of various weapons, including 10 Leopard tanks, 11 American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, 40 artillery systems American M777 and 50 self-propelled artillery mounts from the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France and Poland”, Shoigu specified the losses of the Kiev regime during its “counteroffensive”.
The minister once again drew the attention of the international community that “Western weapons do not lead to success on the battlefield, but only prolong the military conflict,” and civilian property and civilians are increasingly suffering from it.
The head of the military department said that the Russian Defense Ministry had to take additional measures to increase protection against attacks from the air and sea, from the so-called “counteroffensive” of the Kiev regime, which, with the support of Western backers , focused on carrying out terrorist attacks on Russian cities.
At the end of his opening remarks, the minister thanked all the personnel who participated in the special military operation for their service, courage and heroism.
“If before we talked about individual feats, today we have dozens and hundreds of worthy soldiers, soldiers, officers, sergeants who not only do their duty honorably, but do so with great professionalism. The boys really show the highest examples of courage, heroism and once again professionalism,” Shoigu said.
