Showtime has released a trailer for the second season of The Hornets (originally Yellowjackets), showing the horrors that await the high school football team.
Elijah Wood appeared in the video as a detective named Walter. The actor joined the cast only in the second season. His character says, “Kidnapping, cults, death…your friendships are a little more complicated than most.”
Inspired by William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, the series exposes human cruelty. According to the plot, a group of schoolchildren goes to the competition, but gets into a plane crash. They find themselves in a forest where they try to survive.
Sophie Nelisse, Jasmine Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher and Samantha Hanratty return to their roles, along with Melanie Lynskey, Tony Cypress, Juliette Lewis and Christina Ricci. The new season will feature Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Kruger, Warren Cole and Kevin Alves.
Recall that Christina Ricci starred in the Netflix series on Wednesday. She played the role of a teacher at Nevermore Academy, where the main events of the show take place. You can see the full trailer here.
