Singer Sia has revealed that she has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. She shared this on the Rob Has a Podcast, according to Deadline.
Sia was diagnosed two years ago: “For 45 years I thought I should pretend to be an ordinary person… And only in the last two years have I truly become myself.”
The singer also said that she is “on the mend and everything.” “I think one of the best things is that no one can know and love you while you keep a lot of secrets and live in shame,” Sia added.
Sia opens up about being diagnosed two years after her film Music was panned. The singer was convicted for the fact that the neurotypical Maddie Ziegler played a character with autism.
Recall that the film “Music”, which became Sia’s directorial debut, won three “Golden Raspberry” awards. The picture received awards for the worst director, the performers of the main and supporting roles received two more “Golden Raspberries” – Kate Hudson and Maddie Ziegler. The movie won the most anti awards in 2021.
