Starting January 1, the maximum amount of sick leave payments will increase. This was reported by the Social Security Fund. So now you can get 2737 rubles for each sick day. Per month – no more than 84,847 rubles.

The calculation depends on two main factors. Your official salary and total time of service (see table). The higher they are both, the more you will be paid. The formula is relatively simple. All of your legal income for two years (from all employers) is considered. They are divided into 730 days.

If the salary is low and sick leave payments are less than the minimum wage, the calculation will be based on the minimum wage. If, on the contrary, the income is large, they will pay less, not more than the maximum amount indicated above.

By law, sick leave can only be granted for up to 15 calendar days. If you are sick for a longer time, then every half month the sick leave should be extended. The maximum term is 10 months. At the same time, you can issue it not only if you yourself are sick, but also if the child is sick. The payments are almost the same. Only the period of sick leave during the year is limited. It depends on age and disease and varies from 30 to 90 days.

In addition, from the New Year very important modifications of the law will enter into force. Starting January 1, not only full-time employees, but also those working under civil law contracts will be entitled to sick leave. The main thing is that the employer pays insurance premiums for them (minimum – 4834 rubles for this year).

Let’s remember that the FSS discounts 2.9% of our official salary. This money is used for sick leave, maternity leave and for rehabilitation after work injuries.
