On Wednesday, forward Alexander Kadeikin will take to the ice for the game against Severstal Cherepovets as captain of SKA. After a series of five consecutive failures, Marat Khairullin lost the captain’s title.
This was announced by the team’s coach, Roman Rotenberg, on his Telegram channel.
“Alexander Kadeikin will wear the team captain’s patch for the next match. In a difficult time for the team, we will greatly benefit from Sasha’s experience and confidence. Kadeikin will be able to convey to the young players and newcomers to the team the confidence that “We need now, to set the right tone, the necessary experience and understanding,” he wrote.
The assistant captain will be former captain Khairullin, a role that was also entrusted to defender Artem Sergeev.
SKA scored only four points at the start of the season and is currently in tenth place in the Western Conference.
