The Telegram founder met with the leaders of the United Arab Emirates. The Russian billionaire was received by the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the crown prince of the emirate. Photos of the meeting were published on their social networks by the head of the protocol department of the Khalifa government, Said Suleiman (part-time cousin of the emir). He accompanied the images with a low-key comment: “The royal family welcomes the founder of Telegram.” It is not reported what was discussed at the meeting, when it was held, as well as what was the reason for its celebration.
Pavel Durov received UAE citizenship in 2021 and last year was recognized as the richest businessman in the United Arab Emirates according to Forbes magazine. His fortune is estimated at $15.1 billion.
This is not the billionaire’s first meeting with representatives of the royal family. In February 2021, Durov met with the Crown Prince of Dubai, Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Durov doesn’t spoil the world with frequent appearances, so each of his appearances is closely scrutinized. This time, many noticed a badge on the lapel of the black jacket – the new logo of the UAE, the elections for which took place two years ago. The new emblem of the country has become part of the national brand for the next half century. Stylists believe that this is a tribute to the ruling family of the Emirates.

According to the designer, the images of the meeting are an example of the harmonious interaction of two different cultures.

Sheikhs are sitting in traditional white robes and sandals, and Pavel Durov in a suit and sneakers, and it all comes down to a tendency for convenient interaction, which is so important in negotiations of this level, Anna Skorokhodova emphasized.
