“Snob” presented the first issue of the educational project “Who Invented”, dedicated to the scientific achievements of Russian scientists. It was created with the support of the Internet Development Institute (ANO “IRI”).
The video and long read tell the story of the laser: how Soviet physicists came up with the first laser device, what Einstein has to do with it, and why people have not yet invented “engineer Garin’s hyperboloid.”
The “Who Came Up” project will consider heroes in various fields – from the creator of the internal combustion engine Grinevetsky to the breeder Michurin, from the inventor of the plaster and anesthesia Pirogov to Timchenko and his movie camera. The initiative will draw a parallel between the past and the present. Each issue is not just a story about an invention, but a look back at the invention, which became the starting point for the development of a whole direction.
“Quién se le ocurro” is a series of 30 long lectures and videos. Long reads will be posted on snob.ru. The texts dedicated to the inventors are illustrated with collages of archival material. Short videos explaining the essence of the invention will be posted on Snoba’s social networks.
The numbers will be published twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday, on the website, as well as in the Snob project group on the VK social network.
