Ksenia Sobchak has never hidden the fact that the “chests” in her house contain not only a collection of rare diamonds, but also a whole battery of luxury bags.
– In general I am proud of my style, I have been doing it myself for many years. I have a close friend, Ulyana Sergeenko (designer – Ed.), who helps me choose something. I also have a stylist who has worked with me for many years. But in general, I always take care of my wardrobe myself. In show business they like to dress up like a Christmas tree, so it shines brightly. This is the Soviet pop style. I still prefer to watch the performances of Western stars. They are tastefully dressed and at the same time they cannot be accused of being tasteless corny,” said Ksenia Sobchak in an interview with KP in 2011. – For example, I am not against scandalous costumes. You can be scandalous, like Zhanna Aguzarova, or you can wear crazy, strange and ridiculous outfits. In our show business, unfortunately, the latter often wins. I also had a phase of pink corsets and shiny suede shoes. I remember how fashionable it was to wear clothes exclusively from famous designers. My entire closet was full of D&G clothes: rhinestones, crazy hats. And then, somehow, my attitude and my fashion began to change. And finally I went through my wardrobe.
However, over time, Ksenia’s love for bags of expensive brands did not evaporate. Like the young wife of the satirist Yevgeny Petrosyan, Tatyana Brukhunova, Sobchak loves to dress so that everyone understands that he is “expensive and rich.” With stylist Irina Smirnova, we analyze the most striking accessories from Ksenia’s collection.
Low suede pajamas
– Ksenia has many The Row brand bags. – Ksenia has a large collection of Birkin bags: more than 15 pieces. These exclusive bags are made of calf, ostrich or crocodile skin. Sobchak especially loves products made from crocodile. -She became the fatal thing in my life. Hermes “Birkin” bag, 35 centimeters,” Sobchak recalls. “I learned that Ella exists when she was a child. She was in Paris visiting some of my parents’ friends. A French woman pulled out a seemingly ordinary string purse, similar to her grandmother’s purse, but she carried it as if it were Marie Antoinette’s diamond necklace. Caressing the bag, she passionately whispered something about two years of waiting, specially bred Nile crocodiles, and exclusive calves grazing… her words struck me as the ravings of a madman. Who would have thought that 15 years later I would be with the same idiots, humiliating myself in front of salespeople, begging for my Birkin? The idea of the bags is really a brilliant scam, comparable only to Leni Golubkov’s boots from MMM. For decades, these bags have not changed at all, only the price is rising.
TO THE POINT
If you want a Birkin, wait a couple of years in line
It was not in vain that Ksenia mentioned the “brilliant scam” of the Hermes fashion house. The fact is that Birkin bags are not for sale. Not only do you have to pay top dollar for everything, but you also have to wait several years for it to be yours. But that’s not all: if you are not a regular Hermes customer, you are not a celebrity or you do not have the right connections, the seller may simply refuse to sell to you. If you still manage to pass the “face check”, you will be added to the waiting list. And after a while (from 6 months to 6 years), the precious accessory will be in your hands.

Why such difficulties? Hermès produces a strictly defined number of Birkin bags each year (which the company keeps secret). Additionally, the fashion house sets a limit on the number of accessories a customer can purchase with one hand. However, the number of buyers willing to pay several tens of thousands of dollars (or several million rubles) for such a bag only grows from year to year; As you know, the forbidden fruit is sweet. So the “brilliant scam” really works.
I didn’t cut Chanel
– Last April, many Russian fashionistas filmed themselves cutting Chanel bags. Socialites were outraged by the news that foreign boutiques had stopped selling the brand’s items to Russian women due to sanctions. Victoria Bonya, Olga Buzova, Marina Ermoshkina and many others deliberately got rid of their “Chanelles”. But, judging by Sobchak’s fresh appearance, which is topped with purple Chanel for 1.5 million rubles, Ksenia kept items from this brand in her wardrobe. As far as I know, Ksenia has a large collection of vintage Chanel bags. There are copies that cost 10 thousand euros (more than a million rubles).

Ksenia’s love of luxury was inherited from her mother Lyudmila Narusova. According to the TV presenter, her father, Anatoly Sobchak, was a modest and unpretentious person in everyday life.

“Mom took care of Dad’s wardrobe, he didn’t have time for that. I remember the morning exercise: when dad went to work, mom prepared a game for him: which tie to match with which shirt and which jacket. Or she would come up and say, can I have this tie? She says, “Tolya, where did you get it from? Why do you always manage to find the most terrible tie to match your suit?” Dad guiltily walked to the closet, grabbed another one, and said, maybe this one? Mom said: “Wait, I will do everything for you now.” And she waited obediently for her mother to pick up everything for him. Dad was busy with his own business, mulling over some ideas, thoughts and philosophies. His mother dressed him in elegant outfits for his performances, she was his image maker,” Sobchak shared with KP.

In the footsteps of Catherine Deneuve
