This work is actively being carried out in most of the clinics, the major repairs of which are planned for the second stage of this programme. While builders are changing the buildings’ utilities, redesigning the premises to make them more comfortable for doctors and patients, and then equipping them with the most modern equipment, other branches, where all this has already been done, are taking care of the patients. The complete modernization of primary health care in the city will be completed by 2025. This was stated by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, when he congratulated doctors on the past Medical Worker’s Day and presented state awards to the most deserving ones. “We are investing huge resources so that Muscovites receive timely and high-quality medical care, and doctors receive favorable working conditions, so that healthcare in the capital reaches the highest level,” said the head of the city.
Muscovites have already been able to assess the result of this in most areas of the city. The reconstructed old clinics look no worse than the new buildings. With beautiful facades, they are equipped to the same Moscow standards. Clear navigation and zoning are everywhere. And, most importantly, of course, is modern high-tech equipment. Moreover, all equipment is not installed once and for all, but according to life-cycle contracts, after its service life expires, replacement is carried out – this is the only way to achieve this. “The presence of this type of equipment is the best guarantee of accurate and early diagnosis of any disease,” says Andrei Tyazhelnikov, chief freelance specialist in primary health care for adults at the Moscow Health Department and chief physician of clinic number 220. Comparing modern Moscow clinics with those that existed ten years ago, he said: “The changes are simply colossal and not only in the appearance of the amount of equipment that was then simply impossible to imagine. All Moscow clinics have been united over the past years by a single information system – the analytical system. Hospitals are already connected to it. There are also many other services that we use every day. This is, first of all, an electronic medical record, which allows viewing data on all patient consultations in any medical organization, no matter where they are held.”
