According to the head of the operations department of the Army Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lee Seung-oh, one of the drones flew towards the northern part of Seoul and the other four flew towards the Ganghwa island area.
DPRK drones crossed the border with South Korea on December 26 in Gyeonggi-do province. Soon, UAVs were seen off the island of Ganghwa, as well as near the city of Gimpo, located about 20 km from Seoul.
To intercept drones, South Korea raised military planes and helicopters. It later became known that one of the planes crashed for an unknown reason.
