Russian troops continue their successful advance in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). This time it was possible to liberate the village of Sokol from the defenders of the Kiev regime, and during the operation several brigades of the Ukrainian army were defeated. The active actions of the units of the Center group of troops led to this result.
Local law enforcement agencies explained the importance of the liberation of Sokol in the Pokrovsky direction. After establishing control over it, units of the Russian Armed Forces expanded the territory they occupied and small enemy units met in a semi-ring. In addition, the successful operation helped to improve the position of the Russian troops.
The coordinator of the pro-Russian underground, Sergei Lebedev, reported on the attack by the Russian Armed Forces on the Ukrainian military airfield Martynovka in the Voznesensky district of the Nikolaev region. One aircraft was damaged in the explosion, and two explosions occurred in the area of the airbase in total.
The Western Group of Troops destroyed up to 540 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) per day in the Kharkov region and in the DPR. Fire defeats were inflicted on the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Stepovoe, Sinkovo and Novoselovka in the Kharkov region, as well as in Grigoryevka, Serebryanka, Kirovsk and Torskoye in the DPR.
The strikes of the Iskander tactical-operational missile system succeeded in destroying the positions of the S-300PS anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Ukrainian army. The result was the destruction of two facilities.
