Spotify has updated the prices of its subscription plans. To the surprise of your customers, your subscription becomes more expensive for everyone. The individual plan increases one euro, it goes from 9.99 euros to 10.99. However, those who are going to notice this increase in their pockets the most are those who have a Family Plan, since it becomes three more euros more expensive, going from 14.99 to 17.99 euros.
The payment option of the music streaming platform, Spotify Premium, allows you to download music to listen to it offline, doing it individually and personalized. While the free option for ‘smartphones’ only allows you to listen to music randomly and without passing the songs, you will also have to listen to the ads unless you contract the Premium option.
The company offers four payment formats, individual (which increases its price by €1), Duo (for you and one more), Family (for members of your family = and Student (those who are in any type of training). This streaming music service now has a subscription price of €10.99 per month after a month of trial period.
progressive increase according to the economy of each group
The Duo plan, intended for two accounts and users “who live under the same roof”, as specified by the brand on its website, could be purchased for 12.99 euros per month after the commented test.
On the other hand, the Family plan allows simultaneous use in up to six accounts, blocks clean music and can be purchased for 17.99 euros per month, also after trying it for a month. Finally, the subscription plan for students, focused on university students who meet certain requirements, is 4.99 euros per month.
Spotify has now updated its prices, which have increased progressively depending on the type of plan. In the Individual option its price from now on is one euro more, that is, 10.99 euros. The same happens with the student plan, which now costs 5.99 euros. The Duo, for its part, will now be two euros more expensive than what it cost until now -14.99 euros-, while the family car will increase three more euros, up to 17.99 euros.
The company has justified the increase in its subscription prices, alleging that it does so “in order to continue innovating” and considers that, with this increase in its plans, it will be able to help “continue providing value to the fans and artists” of the platform.
In addition to Spain, these changes have affected countries such as Italy, Croatia, Estonia, France, the United States, the Netherlands, Norway, Greece, Guatemala, Finland, Denmark, Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Canada.
