American director Steven Spielberg will produce a documentary about composer John Williams, who wrote the music for Star Wars, the Indiana Jones film series and Harry Potter. The Hollywood Reporter writes about it.
The film will be directed by documentary filmmaker Laurent Bouzereau, who previously worked on Back to the Future: Filming the Trilogy and HBO: First Look. Production will be handled by Amblin Television, Imagine Documentaries and Nedland Media. They are currently in development.
In Spielberg’s place, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Justin Wilks and Sarah Bernstein will serve as executive producers.
John Williams was expected to end his career after finishing Indiana Jones and the Doom Watch. But the composer said that he was not going to stop. He turned 90 last year.
John Williams is actively collaborating with Steven Spielberg. He wrote music for movies like Jaws, Schindler’s List, ET, Jurassic Park, Lincoln, and Fabelmans. The director compared his relationship to an ideal marriage.
Earlier, the BBC released a documentary on Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer. The picture is called “Hans Zimmer: Hollywood Rebel” (translated from English – “Hans Zimmer: Hollywood Rebel”). The premiere took place on October 16.
