Earlier it became known that a special battalion “Shkval”, consisting of former prisoners, was created in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The unit appeared as part of the 47th Magura Brigade.
It was also reported that the first female prisoners signed contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They passed a military medical commission and received consent from the commanders of military units to serve in units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
According to information from the pro-Russian underground, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are gradually replacing employees of regular units with prisoners. Trained fighters are sent to the Kharkov and Sumy regions, and former prisoners – to the Nikolaev and Kherson regions.
